i'm involved in the construction of "greening hills" along the shoreline around a steel plant. this both helps to increase the percentage of forestation at the plant, and aids in preventing dust. i was using heavy machinery which required some difficult maintenance work, but i made some proposals for improvement to the manufacturer, and the work became much more efficient. i was really happy about the customer's evaluation, not only about the work itself, but about the strength of the management proposal.
when i was younger, i worked in civil engineering, at first in a position working with a related firm. i didn't have a lot of skills, but after i became a konoike employee i had staff working for me. as i taught safety management and work methods, i also listened to the younger employees when they talked about difficult jobs; as i thought about the measures we could take, the rewards of the job grew greatly.
the painful experiences i had when i was young have now become a resource not just for me in my work, but in teaching the younger employees. sensing the growth in these young people is something that makes me very happy.
with my own hands, i am making things that are used all over the world.
